Niwaki Unisex Gardening Gloves, Large

£6.00

Whenever I'm doing light duties in the garden or handling grubby pots, I reach for a pair of these hard-working gloves. They're perfect when you need a bit of sensitivity to feel what you're doing. The nylon and spandex liner is breathable, and the nitrile coating is grippy but not too much so. The fit of the fingers and cuffs is snug.

To find your size, measure across the middle of your hand, as shown in the diagram. 7cm = Size 7 (small, purple cuff), 8cm = Size 8 (medium, green cuff), 9cm = Size 9 (large, brown cuff) and 10cm = Size 10 (extra large, yellow cuff). I recommend moving up a size if caught in the middle, although some prefer a tighter fit. If it helps, I'm a size 10!

Advice and Inspiration

Brand Focus

Niwaki

When it comes to making tools for cutting, chopping, snipping or shearing, no one knows their craft better than the Japanese. Niwaki, meaning simply 'garden tree', is a Wiltshire-based company founded by Jake Hobson in 2004. Having learned his craft in an Osaka nursery, Jake returned home with a passion for pruning that’s helped to make Niwaki the leading brand of Japanese tools, ladders, knives and accessories in the country.

The quality and precision of Niwaki products are legendary, many of them made in small quantities by deeply traditional methods: professional gardeners swear by them. Once you've used a pair of Niwaki snips, secateurs, shears or loppers, you'll never go back to your old cutting tools again.
