Ballistol Universal Oil, 200ml Spray Can
ÂŁ12.00
Ballistol Universal Oil lives up to its name: it cleans, lubricates, and protects a wide variety of items without harming the environment. When applied to garden tools, Ballistol creates a protective alkaline film that neutralises acidic residues, preventing rust and corrosion on blades and other mechanical parts. It effectively dissolves grease, grime, and old resinous oils, making it easier to clean tools like shears and lawn mowers after a long day of work.
Additionally, Ballistol Universal Oil helps preserve and rejuvenate wooden handles and work benches, preventing them from drying out, cracking, or splintering. Regular application keeps leather items, such as tool holsters, belts, gloves and work boots, supple and water-resistant.

You can use Ballistol Universal Oil to maintain and restore items made from metal, wood, leather, rubber and synthetic material. Since its formulation in 1904, it has found many applications in handicrafts, industry, agriculture, households, gardening, vehicles, fishing, hunting, and shooting sports.
Metal - Ballistol is widely used on metal tools and machinery, forming a protective alkaline film. It neutralises hand sweat and other acidic, corrosive residues, protecting the surface from all forms of corrosion, including rust. Due to its low surface tension, it can penetrate the tiniest cracks and fissures on metal surfaces and even make silver and brass shiny. In the garden, Ballistol can be used to lubricate and care for hand tools, power tools, lawn mowers, knives, secateurs and shears.
Leather - Ballistol effectively protects leather from hardening and drying, as well as from water, insects, and fungi. Tannic acid residues in leather will be neutralised, and dry leather will soften, leaving no greasy film. Note that using Ballistol may darken the colour of leather.
Wood - Ballistol protects, preserves and rejuvenates all natural wooden surfaces, including tool handles and work surfaces. It enhances the wood graining and protects against humidity and insect damage. It’s ideal for antique furniture and is food-safe, so that you can use it on chopping boards and kitchen knives.
Plastics - Ballistol maintains and protects oil-resistant synthetic materials, preserves their elasticity, and protects them from drying out and becoming hard. It will protect rubber car door seals in winter and renew the shine of synthetic surfaces without leaving a greasy film.
Plants - Ballistol can be used as a contact insecticide. Create a 3% emulsion by mixing 30 ml of Ballistol with 1 litre of water, then spray it onto plants infested with aphids, scale, or red spider mites. The emulsion will coat the insects, clogging their pores and causing them to die from asphyxiation, but it does not harm larger insects such as bees and butterflies. Avoid applying during intense sunlight to prevent leaf burn.
