Come and see me at Eltham Palace's first-ever Autumn Plant Fair, taking place on 13th and 14th September 2025. This new event will feature a wide range of specialist plant nurseries and local craftspeople offering a variety of horticulturally focused products.
To complement the plant fair, there will be talks from head gardeners, historians and industry experts which you can attend for no extra charge.
In 1936, eccentric millionaires Stephen and Virginia Courtauld decided to build their magnificent Art Deco mansion adjacent to the medieval Great Hall of Eltham Palace, creating a masterpiece of modern interiors. After visiting the plant fair, you can explore 19 acres of beautiful, historic gardens, including the rock garden with its series of pools and cascades that run down to the moat. Cross the moat on London's oldest working bridge and smell the roses in Virginia Courtauld's beautiful sunken rose garden.
To conclude your visit, there's a visitor centre with a shop and a pretty café in the glasshouse, as well as a play area for children.
Admission £18.50 in advance, £22 on the day. Includes admission to the palace and gardens. English Heritage members enter for free.
Court Yard, Eltham, London, SE9 5QE. Access from Court Road—junction 3 of M25, then A20 to Eltham.
