A Passion For Perennials with Rosy Hardy

A Passion For Perennials with Rosy Hardy

Perennials are probably the most popular category of plants with British gardeners, but it wasn't always so. In this episode, Julia and I catch up with Rosy Hardy, the Chelsea Flower Show's most decorated female exhibitor, with 24 gold medals to her name and countless others her plants have helped to secure for garden designers and colleagues. Rosy shares how she's helped popularise perennials over the last forty years and offers tips for choosing varieties that will tolerate our increasingly erratic summer weather. Later in this episode, I extol the virtues of plastic-free insect net, and Julia suggests growing an unusual fruit that favours hot, dry summers.
